The concept is that the laser light is used to heat both superficial and deeper structures at the same time. The epidermis is cooled simultaneously to help protect it. The effects cause a wound healing response resulting in new collagen formation and new elastin fibres. The laser energy used causes no injury to the surrounding skin. Patch test required before treatment!
