The History of Body Massage
Body massage is one of the oldest forms of medical treatment; it has been practised throughout history by all cultures and in all countries as a preventative and remedial treatment for injury and disease. Ancient Greek and Romans literature refers to massage as a treatment for asthma, digestive disorders and even sterility but the oldest recorded reference to massage was found in Chinese book dated around 2700BC.
Swedish Massage
The Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energise the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Massage oil is used to protect the skin from friction. Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief. Swedish massage may loosen up tight muscles caused by daily activities such as sitting at the computer or exercising.
